A vented closure, illustrated in figures 9, 10, 11 or 12 of PPP-P-704, or a 1-3/4 inch screw cap closure equipped with an inner seal and a separate 1/2-inch vent tube installed directly opposite the closure shall be used. The vent shall be installed by the pail manufacturer and equipped with a cap attached to the vent tube. Only metal self-venting closures are acceptable for aviation engine lubricating oils and aviation hydraulic fluids. Self-venting closures for products conforming to the following specifications shall conform to figure 9 or 10 of PPP-P-704 and need not be colored olive drab: MIL-PRF-2104, SAE J2360, MIL-PRF-9000, MIL-PRF-14107, and MIL-PRF-21260. |
